Doctor Who has been cancelled by the BBC and put out for Tender alongside Russell T Davies no longer being attached to it's production. After resurrecting the franchise Russell T Davies came back and killed it with David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa. After multiple series targeting the fanbase with messaging, the views no longer could support the show, but what does the future hold? Is Doctor Who worth watching?

Doctor Who is over, for now at least. But when the show eventually comes back, what needs to be changed to save it from the problems that have been holding it back for the last few years?

KATSEYE - Debut | Vevo DSCVR Artists To Watch 2025

In the year of the girl group comeback, KATSEYE stands out from the pack as the global crew. There’s Daniela, Lara, and Megan from the States. There’s Swiss singer Manon repping Europe, Sophia waving the flag for the Philippines and Yoonchae from the pop group Mecca of the past decade, South Korea. It’s a novel concept, developed via a tried and true method - a talent contest. The six gals were the finalists of The Debut: The Dream Academy. Afterwords, the real work started. “We were training 10 to 12 hours a day,” recalls Lara. They also moved in together. “We became sisters,” says Manon. Months of dance training and singing sessions culminated in the aptly titled “Debut.” A swaggering bassline matches the pop confection’s main announcement: KATSEYE is the result of detailed planning, but the energy is all natural. “We ain’t flexing, babe we do what we do.” Perhaps more impressive is second single, “Touch.” Having arrived in July, it boasts more than 170 million Spotify streams and 60 million-plus views for the whirlwind video. Those are phenomenal numbers. So much so that we had to jump in on the rapidly-ascending ground floor. That fans are going to go crazy for these performances might be the easiest prediction we'll make this year. Sitting together on the DSCVR stage, this constellation of six young stars giggled in anticipation about 2025 plans. A couple even got goosebumps, a sensation that many viewers will certainly share.

What if another actor had almost become the Fifteenth Doctor before Ncuti Gatwa walked into the audition room? What if Chris Chibnall had written an episode alongside Steven Moffat for Doctor Who Season 1? And what if the Fifteenth Doctor was never supposed to regenerate at all?

In this video, we explore the original plans, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes changes, and fascinating what-ifs that shaped the Fifteenth Doctor's era. From the audition that instantly won over Russell T Davies, to abandoned storylines in Empire of Death, expanded roles in Joy to the World, and the reported alternate ending of The Reality War, we'll uncover how dramatically Doctor Who changed behind the scenes.

We'll also look at the episodes that almost happened, the return of Susan Foreman that never made it to air, Chris Chibnall's invitation to write for the new era, the surprising origins of Dot and Bubble, and how budget limitations unexpectedly created some of the era's most memorable moments.

Featuring stories involving Russell T Davies, Ncuti Gatwa, Steven Moffat, Chris Chibnall, Millie Gibson, Bonnie Langford, Carole Ann Ford, and more, this is the complete story of the Fifteenth Doctor's original plans and the many alternate versions of Doctor Who that almost became reality.

If you enjoy Doctor Who behind-the-scenes stories, cancelled concepts, lost media, deleted scenes, production secrets, and deep dives into the show's history, make sure to subscribe for more untold stories and unmade adventures from across the Whoniverse.
